Giga Kit?

Yesterday I signed up for a three month membership in Club Deco at Deco-Pages. I headed into the forum to collect my free April collaboration kit and I am shocked! There is so much free stuff that I'll probably be spending the whole day downloading! I've heard of scrapbooking websites giving away Mega kits but the April kit for Club Deco members has to be more like a Giga Kit!
~
So that's my plan for the day...I'll be downloading. I'm also working on a freebie that I hope to have ready by the end of the week so be sure to check back often!

T-ball

T-ball....isn't the T short for tackle?

Yesterday we went to watch our great granddaughter
play t-ball. I had forgotten how entertaining t-ball was to watch...I know some of my pictures are going to be
blurry because I was laughing. They played 'tackle' ball, they tried to catch butterflies, they danced,
they ran from 1st to 3rd skipping 2nd base altogether
and runners passed each other on the bases.
~
But, most importantly, they had fun.

Layout: A Weed

I take a lot of pictures of flowers...especially wildflowers (or weeds as some would call them) so when I
found this quote I just knew I had to scrap this
photo I took of some dandelions in our front yard.
I used the kit Ever After by Paris Designs.

New freebie soon!

This is a sneak peek at an upcoming freebie! Check back in a day or two for the details on how to get this mini kit!

Family, baseball and freebie

It was a beautiful weekend. I spent most of Saturday visiting family. I went to Judy's (my sister) house. She is an avid reader so I took her a bag of books. I also went to see my Mom & Dad. Mom had a box full of towels that she was planning to get rid of so she had me look through them to see if there was anything that Ashleigh would be able to use for her apartment. I think I ended up bringing home 3 bath towels, a couple of hand towels and a stack of washcloths! My mother-in-law has some stuff for Ashleigh to look through so hopefully when she is home next weekend we can find some time to do that.
~
Unfortunately the Atlanta Braves games are usually televised on a channel we can't get but Sunday they were on TBS so I finally got to watch them!!! And they won!!!

Wow....

It got up to 82 degrees today! It felt wonderful!

I took a couple of days "off" from blogging and when I come back I'm over 2000 hits! Wow....

Wednesday I did some spring cleaning. My daughter is getting her first apartment in May so I emptied my kitchen cupboards to see what I could give her. I came up with a pile of stuff for her to look through when she comes home from college this weekend.

Our local library is having their used book sale next week so I spent Thursday morning updating my booklist. And, yes it took all morning. If you could see my list you'd understand. It is 24 pages long! I have a list of my favorite authors and all the books they have written. If I have the book I draw a line through the title...after I read it I highlight the title on my booklist and then pass the book on to family and friends to read. At this time I probably have over 1000 books....I know what you are thinking...if I have over 1000 books why do I need more? At today's prices a paperback costs about $6 or $7 dollars so if I can get a book at the book sale for under a dollar I can't pass it up!

Mother Nature & A Layout

Mother Nature is so cruel! Last week we had sunshine and temperatures in the low 60's. Weather that gave you hope that Spring was here! This morning when I got up to take the dogs outside it was only 20 degrees! What happened to Spring? Did I miss it?

I made this layout for the Deco-Pages Photography Challenge and used photos from one of last summer's camping trips. When I look at it I remember the summer and it gives me hope that it will arrive soon.

Bones, Dancing, a Layout and a Freebie!

I am so excited! The season premiere of Bones and Dancing With The Stars are both on tonight at 8 pm! It is a good thing we get a west coast feed! I'll be able to watch one of them at 8 pm and the other one I can catch 3 hours later. Needless to say it probably won't be a very productive scrapbooking night.

I made this layout for the Snap & Scrap color challenge. This is one of my friends, Carey May. Isn't she beautiful? The bright pink and green are colors that fit her personality. She is a caring and thoughtful person. She always has a smile and a positive outlook on life.
Being around her brightens my day.

Special Thanks and Freebie

I received an email from Elizabeth telling me that my TOU was garbled. She was able to make out my email address and requested a TOU in a format that she could open. I started wondering how many other people out there have had the same exerience. So I changed my TOU to jpg format and from now on that is what I'll be including with my freebies. And, as my special thanks to her for letting me know about this problem I made this background paper and I call it Elizabeth.
Go here to get the freebie.
If you download this freebie please leave a comment.
If you use it in a layout please credit Elizabeth from the Ninety Nine Names Collection by Phreyfall. I would love to see how you use it so e-mail me at tlh681@aol.com

1000 +

Wow...I just noticed that I hit 1000 people visiting my blog! Whoohoo!!! I guess I'll have to spend the day finishing a mini kit that I'd been working on to offer as a celebration freebie!!!
I can't believe this is the last challenge! Season 3 has been fun! Everyone at Natural Designs in Scrapbooking (Ndisb) has done a great job! My partner Catherine is amazing and she has been an wonderful partner. So here is our layout for
the ADSR challenge #12..."Accomplishments - It's All In The Numbers".

Journaling by Catherine Wiggins: As I look back and think about what I have accomplished in my life, there are so many things that I normally write off, but together make for some major accomplishments. I am the oldest of 7 children. I have 4 brothers and 2 sisters, most of whom I helped raise. I graduated from high school when I was 16.I got married at 19, then 2 years later, I left my abusive husband and took our 1-year-old daughter to safety. I managed to take care of 2 children as a single mother for almost 5 years, until I met, and later married, my wonderful husband, Adron. We had our 1st child together, and 8 days later he returned to Heaven. Despite losing a child, Adron and I managed to strengthen our relationship, and have had 2 more children. I now have 4 children, and spent 3 years home schooling the older 2. I’ve made 3 christening gowns, 2 First Communion dresses, and countless Easter, Christmas, and “just because” outfits for my children. I’ve worked anywhere from 20 to 60-hour weeks while raising my children, but have recently returned home to be with them. I stay home with the 2 little ones during the day – and chasing a 3-year-old and a 1-year-old is no easy task! I cook dinner for my family at least 5 nights a week, usually 7. I often cook 30 days worth of lunches or dinners over the course of 2 days. All in all, I feel like I’m just a normal mom. My goal in life is to raise my 4 children to be Godly men and women, and to take care of my precious husband.

Challenges & Amanda

I know I'm going to be lost when the ADSR is over so I spent most of the day checking out different websites for challenges. I found some great challenges at Color Line Designs, Stone Accents Studio and Deco-Pages that I think I'm going to try.
~
Speaking of Deco-Pages....I used the Totally Grungy Kit by Paris Designs to make this layout of Amanda (my daughter's roommate). It is hard to believe that this layout and the layout called Family (in a previous post) were made from the same kit! It is a very versatile kit. Go to Deco-Pages and check it out!

Challenge #12 and Family

Challenge #12 for the ADSR is a collaborative effort. One team member provides the photo & journaling and the other team member scraps the layout! So, while my partner and I are deciding who is doing what part of the challenge I made this layout using the Totally Grungy Kit by Paris Designs at Deco-Pages. This photo has my grandmother (back left) and my great grandparents!
