New Year's Eve

My big plans for New Year's Eve include sitting at home, drinking coffee and reading a book. Right now I am reading Drop Dead Gorgeous by Linda Howard. She is one of my favorite authors.

Baby, it's cold.....

Baby, it's cold inside! Over the last few years the furnace has quit working every few months. We had to call a furnace repairman last year to fix it and he told us it was obsolete. He isn't aware of any place that sells the part we need. He showed my husband how to reset it when it stopped working but warned us that we'd need a new furnace soon. Lately it has been quitting almost every day so there are times when it gets downright chilly in the house before we get the furnace going again. I dread the idea that we may have to replace this furnace someday soon. I haven't priced them but I assume they aren't cheap.

Creative Teams

I am on three creative teams! As I get more familiar with blogging I will post some of the layouts I've made with their wonderful kits but for now you can check out Paris Designs and Mary Ridgeway at Deco-Pages. And, kits by Brittney Ferguson Design can be found in the stores at Moo Two Designs and Studio Style Designs.

Grades

Everyone will have to forgive me while I brag a bit. My daughter got her grades for the Fall Semester and she ended up with a 3.84!!! Isn't that great! She is in her 3rd year at college and is majoring in Equine Sciences. Here is a photo of her with one of the horses on campus:

Too tired

I had several things I was going to write about tonight but I've decided I'm too tired. I'll try to get back tomorrow to post.

Freebie: Kaitlin

I call this background Kaitlin. I created it to use in one of my recent layouts. I am new to designing and so far have only made backgrounds. I've decided to offer my creations as freebies. I didn't know what to call it but after 'brainstorming' with my husband we came up the "Ninety Nine Names" collection. Over the next several months I will post more backgrounds. If you use this one in a layout please credit Kaitlin from Ninety Nine Names Collection by Phreyfall. I would love to see how you use it so e-mail me at tlh681@aol.com

Challenge layout

Saturday I had planned on posting a layout I had completed for the December 2007 Color Challenge at Deco-pages.com but got distracted and lost track of time. This is Kaitlin. She is my great niece and she is such a cutie! The layout is called 'All You Have To Do Is Smile'.

Merry Christmas! I did finally manage to get my Christmas tree up...yesterday. The puppy "helped" so it took twice as long as it should have. Christmas Day (as I am sure many of you can relate to) was hectic. My daughter received money and several gift cards so we are probably going shopping tomorrow. I hate crowds so I am seriously questioning my sanity at agreeing to this! I have a lot of photos from Christmas so I am hoping that I will have a chance to work on some layouts tomorrow night!

I won!!

Kris Myers at Plain Digital Wrapper recently held a Christmas Cookie Exchange layout contest. You could use stuff from other designers but the majority of the layout had to be from her Christmas Cookie Exchange Kit. It is a great kit!
I won 1st prize which is a $20 gift certificate to her store at Plain Digital Wrapper. I'm so excited!

Christmas...

Okay...I'm starting to get worried. There are only 5 days left until Christmas...I've only made it half way through my Christmas card list, I haven't finished my shopping and I haven't put up the Christmas tree. I can't seem to find my Christmas spirit. I've tried baking Christmas cookies, wrapping a few presents, watching Frosty the Snowman on television and listening to Christmas music but I still don't have the Christmas spirit.

How do other people find their Christmas spirit?

New addition to the family...

This is Taji. My daughter, who is hoping to get her own apartment in May, brought home a puppy on Tuesday. Ashleigh is going to college and is living in a dorm so we get to keep the puppy! For anyone out there who has ever had a puppy you know what fun we have in store for us over the next few months. We are working on potty training. The other thing we have to do is convince her that slippers, socks and underwear are not considered chew toys.

It's a good thing she is cute...

I never thought I'd join the world of bloggers...but here I am writing my first post!
