Layout: Happiness is a Warm Puppy

~

The decision to come home when we did was the right one....today it was in the low 50's and rainy all day. I tried to work on some layouts but nothing seemed to 'flow' so I ended up spending most of the day doing 'home from a trip' stuff like laundry and going through the mail.

~

Since I don't have a new layout completed I thought I'd post this layout that I made for a quote challenge at Go Digital Scrapbooking last year.

The next week is going to be busy. Saturday I am taking pictures at a wedding for a friend. Tuesday we have an appointment to get the oil changed in the truck. Wednesday morning I have an appointment to get my hair cut and in the afternoon we are taking our grandson to the DMV to take his road test. Thursday is Rick's birthday. Devon has an appointment with the groomer so we are going out to breakfast. Next Saturday I am going to Morrisville. My daughter asked me to come up to take pictures at a football game. And, Sunday there is an 'end of the summer' cook-out at my mother-in-law's house. Sometime during the week I need to plan some time to visit my friend Jenifer and I also want to visit my parents. Yep....a busy week!

Layout: Yellowstone

~

The furnace just came on....it is only 54 degrees out. Isn't that a little chilly for August? Well this camping trip is almost over. We were planning to leave Thursday but after hearing that they are predicting rain we are considering leaving tomorrow. It is much more comfortable tearing down, traveling and unhooking when it isn't raining. :)

~

I made this layout for the 2008 Material Girl Challenge at Deco-Pages.

~

Journaling: When we bought our camper it had these stickers on it. One day, after a closer inspection of them, I told my husband that if we tried to remove them we would probably ruin the finish on the camper....so I suggested that instead we should just go to the parks. He chuckled and agreed with my logic. I went online to do a little research on Yellowstone National Park and was amazed...I never realized how large the park was. My parents and I visited when I was 5 years old and I have a vague memory of watching Old Faithful erupt I never realized how many other geysers were in the park. And, there are lakes, rivers and waterfalls in addition to other attractions. So, I will definitely be gathering more information, requesting brochures, printing maps and looking forward to visiting both parks in the future!

Caitlin, my tooth and a layout......

~

Wow....I can't believe how bad I've been about blogging. Let's see....what has happened since my last post.....

~

Rick and I have a new niece...meet Caitlin. This photo was taken a few hours after she was born...isn't she beautiful! I have a feeling you'll be seeing a lot more photos of Caitlin in the future.

~

~

Oh, and remember that tooth I broke last month? Well, a couple of days ago the filling fell out...I guess I won't be able to put off that trip to the dentist too much longer. :(

~

Today I saw the line-up of stars for this season's Dancing With The Stars and I can say I am quite disappointed. I guess my definition of 'star' differs from the producers...I'll watch the premier and then I'll decide if I'll continue to watch it for the rest of the season.

~

I have finally finished a layout....the first one in over a week! I was starting to have withdrawal symptoms...haha! I made this layout for the Deco-Pages August Color Challenge.

~

Journaling: Christian couldn’t wait to show us the new skill he had learned….and, after a few unsuccessful attempts he managed to get his hat on without any help! He was so proud of himself! What a cutie!

Oops....again

~
Oops....I started several posts and saved them as drafts because I wanted to go back and edit them....then I never did. Sorry!

~
We've been camping at Cardinal for the last week and later today are heading out to Lazy Lakes until the 28th or 29th. Ashleigh came home Friday and stayed until Sunday. Saturday we had my parents' and Lee & Ann Bennett up for supper. Casey came up yesterday and is going to camp with us until the 22nd.

This cutie is the son of one of the girls that plays on Crystal's softball team!
I made this layout for the Color Line Designs August 2008 Color Challenge. I couldn't get the layout to upload so I figured I'd post it here and try to upload it at Color Line Designs in a few days.

Random stuff

~
Wow....I just looked at the clock and saw that it was almost 12:30 pm. Where did the morning go? Well, I suppose getting up 9:30 am and having your 'morning' only be 3 hours long might have something to do with it. Usually we get up earlier than that but we didn't get to bed until 4:30 am....I dragged Rick out last night at around 11:30 pm to go to Walmart. If I am going to go shopping I'd much rather deal with employees restocking shelves than crowds of people.

~
But back to this morning.....I folded a load of laundry and gathered all the darks and started another load, took Devon for a walk, made a list of the stuff I'll need for Saturday (Crystal is having a cook-out for Casey's birthday and I'm making coconut macaroons, glazed oatmeal raisin cookies, macaroni salad and a vegetable tray) and sent Rick to the store, worked out for an hour, took Devon for another walk, downloaded our bank statement and started balancing the checkbook....and now I'm writing in my blog. I guess for a 3 hour morning I haven't done to bad! LOL

Layout: Mabel & Genevieve

~
This is Rick's great grandmother, Mabel (Welch) Marble and her daughter Genevieve. Little Genevieve died when she was just 4 years old and we think this is the only photo of her.

63 years.....

~

Today is my parents anniversary. They have been married 63 years! This is a layout I made for them last year.

~

Journaling: In August they will have been married for 62 years…and, they have experienced it all…richer, poorer, sickness, health, good times and bad. His eyesight is failing and her gait is unsteady but together they face life, gathering strength from each other, hand in hand.
