Layout: Christmas Eve Miracles

O-scraps had challenge 4 of the ADSR. The challenge was to "Spill It". This was my layout.

Journaling: It was Christmas Eve and Dad had gone out to the garage to start a fire in the woodstove so he could wrap a Christmas gift for Mom. He went back in the house for a few minutes to give the garage a chance to warm up. He started back outside and saw smoke billowing out from the back of the garage. He ran out to the garage, opened the door and although he was pushed back several feet by the blast of hot air he wasn‘t burned (Miracle #1). As he turned to run into the house he fell. Amazingly, he did not hurt himself during the fall (Miracle #2). He ran into the house and told Mom to call the fire department. She called and there happened to be volunteer firefighters already at the station (Miracle #3). She hung up the phone and immediately tried to make another call but the phone was dead. At least she had been able to make the phone call to the fire department before the phone wires were damaged (Miracle #4). My brother’s semi-tractor was parked in the driveway in front of the garage. A stranger who happened to be driving by stopped and offered to move it because he knew how to drive an 18 wheeler. (Miracle #5). My brother’s motor home was parked next to the garage. Dad noticed that the overhead garage door had opened and he started to go into the garage to get the keys for the motor home when the door came smashing down. If that door had remained open any longer he may have entered the garage in an attempt to get the keys and would have been trapped inside (Miracle #6). A neighbor saw the blaze and arrived with his tractor and was able to pull the motor home to safety (Miracle #7). The fire department showed up just as the heat from the garage fire had begun to melt the siding on the house. The firefighters were able to contain the fire to the garage and save the house (Miracle #8). The garage and all it’s contents were destroyed and the siding on the house is buckled from the heat, but Mom & Dad are alive and well.
